ABOUT THE SCDP LEADERSHIP
The Summit County Democratic Leadership officials are elected by the Precinct Committee members and are tasked with running the Party at the county level. Their responsibilities include running day to day operations, assisting candidates and volunteer recruitment as well as aid local candidates in their campaigns. With the help of the SCDP leadership we will ensure that our candidates will reflect the interest of the Democratic Party.
CHAIR: WAYNE JONES
Wayne M. Jones has built a distinguished career working for our communities and furthering Democratic Party ideals here in Summit County and throughout the State of Ohio. Wayne served as Chief Deputy of the Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court, Deputy Director of The Ohio Department of Insurance and was elected to the Ohio State House of Representatives from 1987 to 1996. While in Columbus, his leadership expanded across multiple committees involving finance, insurance, health care and education. Locally, Wayne has been a member of the Party’s Executive Committee since 1990 and has long served on the Summit County Board of Elections. Wayne presided as Finance Chair of The Democratic Party of Summit County for ten years until he was elected to Party Chair in April 2008. His success for the Party is due, in large part, to utilizing “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” He is proactive; begins with an end in mind; puts first things first; thinks win; seeks first to understand, then to be understood; provides synergy; and seeks continuous improvement. Wayne is a lawyer at Roetzel & Andress and is a proud father of his three sons, Jason, Zack and Nick. Wayne continues to work tirelessly in support of Democratic Candidates, Elected Officials, and Activists to further the strength of the Democratic Party of Summit County.
FIRST VICE CHAIR: MADELINE BOZZELLI
Longtime Democratic activist Madeline Bozzelli has served as First Vice Chair for over two decades. In 1968 Madeline began a twenty-six year career with the Summit County Board of Elections, serving under eight different Board Directors. Madeline is known throughout the county for her passionate long-term involvement with many civic and humanitarian organizations. She graciously lends her expertise in event planning to The Summit County Democratic Party ensuring the growth and strength of the local Party through our many successful fundraisers and activities. Her fundraising prowess is legendary. Madeline works tirelessly as President of the Federated Democratic Women of Summit County and was honored by The University of Akron’s Ray C. Bliss Institute and Women Studies Coordinating Council with an Honorary Alumna Award for serving as a role model for all women working to be active in politics.
SECOND VICE CHAIR: TAMELA MULAIKI
She is deeply committed to increasing campaign participation by voters and improving Election Day turnout. Tamela’s family has a long history of involvement in Democratic activities where she learned the importance of being engaged in electoral politics. She demonstrates these ideals through her commitment to increasing volunteer campaign participation and improving voter Election Day turnout. In 2006 she served as the Summit County African-American Coordinator for the Turnaround Ohio campaigns of Ted Strickland and Sherrod Brown. As a tireless worker on local, state, and national campaigns, she knows that success depends on teamwork.

SECRETARY: SHARON ROBINSON
Democratic Board of Elections Booth Clerk Sharon Robinson has been Secretary of the Party for nearly a decade. She has been instrumental in recruiting Precinct Committee Members throughout Summit County. Using her interpersonal skills, diplomacy, can-do attitude, persuasiveness, nurturing spirit, and sensitivity she uncovers untapped potential and facilitates improvement. She coaches, encourages, appreciates, and supports others.
Finance Chair, Heather Heslop Licata
Heather Heslop Licata is a long time Party activist continually working to suppot Democrats on the local and state levels. She served on the State Board of Education working to improve education for all of Ohio’s children. Heather currently sits on the Ohio Democratic Party’s State Executive Committee and represents the 27th District as State Central Committee Woman. In 2008, Heather was appointed as Finance Chair of The Summit County Democratic Party to ensure that Democrats continue to be elected in the County.
Executive Director, Megan C. J. Moreland
Megan Moreland began her foray into politics in 2005 where she worked on Judicial, Ohio State Senate and Congressional campaigns. Over the course of the 2007 and 2008 election cycles, she was introduced to Summit County politics through her role as The Ohio Democratic Party’s Northeast Ohio Regional Field Director. This opportunity allowed her to work on a multitude of electoral races in conjunction with a wide variety of County Democratic Parties. Megan began her work as Executive Director of the Summit County Democratic Party in December of 2008 continuing to work with the Party leadership, activists and campaigns.
